Insurance Benefits
Employees hired to work a minimum of 95 days/760 hours are eligible for medical, dental, vision and basic life, LTD insurance through Healthcare Authority, SEBB plan.
Retirement Benefits
Employees hired to work more than 70 hours a month for more than 5 months are eligible for retirement through Washington Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) in either the SERS or TRS retirement plans.
VEBA
Employees are provided with a $50 contribution to a VEBA account monthly, maximum of $600 per year.
Sick Leave
Employees hired to work 180 days or more per year inclusive of paid holidays and paid vacation shall earn 8 hours of sick leave per month. Employees hired to work less than 180 days per year shall earn sick leave prorated based on the days worked divided by 180 and the result multiplied by 8 at a minimum rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked.
Personal Leave
Employees hired to work more than 180 days in a leave year will receive personal leave of two (2) days (based on the number of scheduled hours of work per day). This leave is non-accumulative and any balance as of June 30th will not carry forward into the next leave year.
Paid Holidays
Employees hired for a specific number of days (less than 260) are not eligible for holiday pay. Other employees may receive up to 13 paid holidays.
Vacation Leave
Employees may be eligible for paid vacation depending on the position:
- Employees hired for a specific number of days (less than 260) are not eligible for vacation pay.
- Full-time (8 hours per day/12 months per leave year) employees shall receive at a minimum one paid vacation day of leave for each full month of completed service up to either 12 or 20 days per leave year, depending on position; (year around employees scheduled to work 1,040 hours (130 days), or more per leave year shall receive a prorated share of the full-time employees’ vacation leave).
- Contracted, Cabinet Members, and Associate Directors full-time (8 hours per day/12 months per year) shall receive 25 days of vacation each leave year. These days shall be front-loaded in July of each year.
