Overview
Elementary school is the ideal time for students to be introduced to computer science. It fosters creativity and teaches students critical-thinking skills that carry across all disciplines – especially reading and math. Bring your students tech skills that go beyond typing – get trained in Code.org’s Computer Science Fundamentals!
Designed to be fun and engaging, Computer Science Fundamentals blend online and “unplugged” (offline) activities to teach K-5 students computer science concepts and digital citizenship. Students create their own games, art, and digital stories that they can share with their peers – all while developing essential soft skills like communication, collaboration, and persistence.
In this free, virtual workshop series, you will be introduced to Code.org’s equitable, open-source curriculum, get hands-on with lesson activities and the online dashboard, and learn more about computational thinking from local experts.
