Guidance from OSPI Reinforces These Commitments

Recent guidance from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) reinforces our dedication to:

  • Prohibiting discrimination based on race, color, national origin, citizenship, or immigration status.
  • Protecting student information and ensuring that schools do not initiate engagement with federal immigration authorities.
  • Ensuring equal access to programs and services for all students in our region.

We recognize that many families, staff, and students may feel uncertainty or fear about the future. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that schools remain safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces where every individual is valued and respected.

  • Council on American-Islamic Relations Guide to Bullying and Bias in Schools
  • Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network – Immigrant Rights Hotline (1-844-RAID-REP or 1-844-724-3737)
    • A new hotline for reporting enforcement activity, allows “rapid response” teams to check out rumors as they are happening. This hotline will also track improper behavior by immigration officials.
