Overview
This four-hour professional learning opportunity is for instructional paraeducators, K-12. Participants will deepen their understanding of the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS) requirements, specifically including 4 of the required 28 units of study hours that align with the FCS learning objectives.
Objectives:
- To more deeply understand the requirements for meeting the Fundamental Course of Study requirements and what their responsibilities are for monitoring their hours
- To be able to gain knowledge and skills aligned to the FCS and meet applicable para educator standards
- To more deeply understand what will be required to obtain the General Paraeducator Certificate, Subject Matter Certificates (ELL and SPED) and Advanced Paraeducator Certificate
- To gain knowledge of a variety of best practice teaching strategies that address cultural diversity and how to apply them.
