We are pleased to announce the addition of six new employees to our team.

Lisa Monahan has been hired as a STEM Coordinator. She has taught a variety of courses in the Methow Valley over the past 12 years including secondary science, math, engineering, health and coordinated internships. Monahan was instrumental in the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program in the Methow Valley. She holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Washington in Zoology and Biology Teaching and began her teaching career in the Mississippi Delta through Teach for America.

Melissa Trammell is the newest Behavior Specialist at the NCESD. She graduated earlier this year with a graduate certificate in PBS with a focus in Applied Behavior Analysis.  She graduated in 2013 with her Master’s in Education specializing in Secondary Special Education from Portland State University, and taught for three years in southwest Washington as a high school/transition special educator. Her specific area of focus is working to support teachers and students needing Tier 3 supports, autism spectrum disorder, transition and person-centered planning and programming for students highly impacted with their exceptionality.

Heidi Krumland has joined the NCESD as a School Psychologist Intern. She is a graduate student at EWU’s Respecialization Program. Previously, she was an elementary school teacher and has taught in Alaska, Belgium and several districts Washington.

Heather Kelly has also been hired as a School Psychologist Intern.  A student in the CWU School Psychology graduate program, Kelly will graduate with a Master’s Degree in June 2019. Prior to graduate school, she worked for the Wenatchee Police Department, the Washington State Department of Corrections and the Washington State Division of Child Support.

Heather Stringer is the new Electrical Safety and Energy Education Specialist for the NCESD.  She is a graduate of Texas Tech University and brings almost a decade of experience teaching elementary school.  Within her position, she creates hands-on lessons and experiments that engage students and capture their imaginations while learning about energy and electrical safety.

Erika Cleverly has joined the NCESD team as a Speech Language Pathologist. She received a Speech Language Pathology Assistant degree from Shoreline Community College, and has worked for the Quincy School District for 10 years and the Achieve Center for 3 years.

“We are thrilled to add these six outstanding employees to the NCESD team. They each bring deep experience in their fields, and we are confident that they will expertly support the operations of the NCESD and the districts we serve,” explained Suzanne Reister, Executive Director of Human Resources for the NCESD.
