The North Central Educational Service District (NCESD) is now accepting proposals from content experts who wish to present at the fourth-annual STEM Summit. The event is scheduled for August 11-21 and will be held virtually for the first time.

The STEM Summit will highlight multiple professional learning opportunities for teachers and educational staff members in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics taught by experts and specialists in their fields.

Interested presenters are asked to choose from the following options:

STEM 101: These are 50-minute sessions. Great for an overview of a program, software, app, etc. this will be a low-level dive into any content area. Exposure to ideas, theories, or building awareness and definitions.

STEM 201: These are 1-hour 50-minute sessions. These sessions will be a deeper dive than STEM 101. Almost 2 hours of workshop time – great for beginning steps to learn a new task, theory, or begin to create class lessons and content.

Interested presenters that prefer longer sessions are welcome to propose topics and ideas.

The 2020 virtual STEM Summit will still feature over 60 breakout sessions offered morning and afternoon. New additions this year include a track focused on Early Learning and a Teacher Academy hosted by the Chelan County PUD.  A total of 39 Clock hours will be offered to purchase.

“This event is offered to provide teachers and educational staff members from throughout North Central Washington with innovative STEM educational tools and resources, curriculum updates, and information on a variety of STEM-related topics. Due to COVID-19, the STEM Summit will maximize technology and host this event virtually for the first time. The NCESD works hard to remain on the cutting edge of education and we’re eager to hear from content experts who would like to be part of this event for educators,” explained Pete Phillips, Executive Director of Technology Services at the NCESD.
