School districts across the state continue to innovate to meet the growing needs of their students while balancing the increasing costs associated with these needs. WASA recently published a website to better explain the issues creating financial pressure on K-12 school districts, and the need for state funding to reflect these increasing costs.

The Career Connect Washington regional network brought together educators, industry leaders, and community members for a virtual celebration. This event recognized the dedicated efforts and strong partnerships that have supported students across Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan Counties.

The NCESD STEM Team launched a six-week educational initiative titled "Signs of Spring," throughout April and May, designed to engage students in hands-on learning experiences that explore the natural world's seasonal changes.

Led by the North Central Educational Service District, with funding from ClimeTime Proviso, students from Endeavor (Moses Lake), Warden, Waterville, Bridgeport, Brewster, Tonasket and Oroville schools engaged in hands-on environmental science and conservation efforts on Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) lands. The outdoor field events, STEAM in the Field, occurred over three weeks in April and May.

North Central Educational Service District (NCESD) will be recognizing regional school nurses on Wednesday, May 10 in celebration of National School Nurse Day. NCESD encourages others to take a few minutes on May 10 to say thank you to a school nurse for their dedication to student health and safety.
