Innovative Approaches to Student Well-Being: The Power of School-Based Telehealth

In the spring of 2022, an innovative project around school-based telehealth began in North Central Washington. Thriving Together North Central Washington (formerly known as North Central Accountable Community of Health or NCACH) allocated funds to launch community-focused virtual care services, with a special emphasis on school-based efforts across Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan counties. The driving force behind this initiative was to enhance access to healthcare and services for students, parents, and school employees.

Statewide Program Striving to Create Inclusive Environments for Every Student Continues to Grow

MASH started in 2020 with one team of three part-time staff members. Due to the program’s profound impact on students and community, the demand only increased for its services and commitment to ethical, inclusive, and effective support. Going into the 2023-2024 school year, 60 students state-wide are being served by the program’s three-full time teams of multiple behavior specialists. 

NCESD’s Lisa Monahan and Cari Haug Recognized with the Educator of the Year Award from Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife

In July 2023, Lisa Monahan, NCESD STEM Coordinator, and Cari Haug, NCESD Regional Science Coordinator were invited to join Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife Region 2 staff for their annual awards banquet where they were awarded the WDFW Region 2 (WDFW) Educator of the Year Award.
