During Winter 2022-23, NCESD partnered with ESD 101, ESD 123 and ESD 105 to host a collaborative four-series course using children’s literature with the goal for educators to collaborate and model an integrated approach to climate change using reading and science together.

The Washington Association of Educational Service Districts (AESD) Annual Conference is a unique opportunity for the NCESD board to connect with their peers from other ESDs across the state.

North Central Educational Service District (NCESD) will be recognizing regional school nurses on Wednesday, May 10 in celebration of National School Nurse Day. NCESD encourages others to take a few minutes on May 10 to say thank you to a school nurse for their dedication to student health and safety.

The NCESD School Nurse Corp recently announced several recognitions for school nurses in districts across North Central Washington. Congratulations to all who have been recognized for their work!

To encourage more young women to consider taking courses and exploring future career paths in technology, the regional events Tech & Tiaras were designed to inspire middle school girls and teens who identify as female, through a fun and engaging, hands-on experience with technology alongside women in the technology industry.

Since 2017, 55 people in North Central Washington have become credentialed teachers through Eastern Washington University’s Transition to Teaching program. The program has provided school districts with an equitable strategy to recruit, hire and retain qualified teachers who are representative of their communities.

In honor of the 28th anniversary of School Board Recognition Month, initiated by the National School Boards Association in 1995, we wanted to take some time to explain the responsibilities of school board members and highlight the role they play in public PK-12 education.
