Issues of Abuse Training Requirement

According to WAC 181-79A-200 the Issues of Abuse training requirement must meet specific standards. These standards may be met in one course or a series of courses covering the topics outlined. The Professional Educator Standards Board (PESB) also provides some additional details regarding this requirement.

The Issues of Abuse requirement does not need to be clock hours. This could be met through any type of class, training, or personal education outside of an approved provider. This can be a training completed anywhere, for any length of time, from any point in time, as long as it includes the elements listed. OSPI provides a form to document this training.

If you have a course you have already completed that you believe has met the standards you may edit this record in your OSPI EDS E-cert professional development history and check the Issues of Abuse check box.
